CrossFit Games Open - Local Competition Series Update:
This is it, the final push to the end. Where are you going to end up? Workout’s 11.5 and 11.6 have been announced, now it’s time to attack and finish this competition strong. We will be hosting this Saturdays event right here at CrossFit South Shore.
Last Saturday was somewhat quiet, I think 11.4 was a bit intimidating for some. That’s not the case with the last two workouts. Workout 11.5 is a classic CrossFit triplet, get the engine up to speed and keep it there for 20 minutes. Then, the final workout (11.6) is going to be an all out ballistic sprint to the finish.
Let’s make these last two events epic. Sign up and join us as we all bust our asses to improve our individual rankings and help our respective teams qualify for Regionals. You know the drill by now, register by 8:00pm Thursday (really I’ve been accepting registrations as late as Friday morning, but don’t procrastinate). Cost is $10 for each of the last two weeks. Athlete arrival is 1:00pm, with the first heat kicking off at 2:00pm. These events are open to all athletes regardless of affiliation.

I know I posted this last week, but it certainly applies more now than ever. What motivates you to get up and keep going? Ask yourself this question. Find your answer and make it your personal mantra as you attack these final two workouts.

Ok, so I guess it's time I finally leave a post after promising Tara a million times that I would. First and foremost I want to thank everyone at CrossFit South Shore for their positive words of encouragement. I think that is the biggest thing that made me successful throughout the Look Better Perform Better Challenge. Since I started at CFSSLI I have gone through different stages of motivation and performance levels. When I started this latest challenge I told myself I wasn't going to give up and I was going to be fully committed to achieving my goals. This was the 3rd challenge I have participated in, but it’s the only one I saw through till the end. I made sure I listened to Doug and Tara in regards to my nutrition and my work outs. If I missed a day at the gym, Tara would text me to find out why I wasn’t there. She didn’t let me slip. I have to say, when I miss a day at the gym I feel like my day isn’t complete. CrossFit has become a permanent part of my life and I have a new found level of commitment that I have never felt before. But this "New Me" isn’t just coming out at the gym. It has made my day to day life better. I find myself more focused at work. I started setting new personal and professional goals.
When the Open Sectionals began I had no intention of participating. As a matter of fact my plan was to come to events as a spectator. I really didn’t think I was ready to be involved. Now that I am involved and a part of "Team CFSSLI" I am prouder than ever. I look forward to training every day. I look forward to being at the gym with my CrossFit Family. All of you drive me to work harder and be better.
So to close this post, my entire message can be summed up with a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone that has pushed me through this journey.
