Mike Lucca shows up everyday and gives it his all. Mike understands that success comes from commitment. Check out this excerpt from last weeks post on commitment:
Commitment means making something you want a priority and being determined to achieve it. It means doing the same work whether someone is watching or not. It means passing up some of those fun things "other" people do since you are committed to your goal. It means measuring and valuing the things you have in your life in terms of how much they support or hinder your commitment to your goal. Commitment means having the strength to discard that does not help you get what you want. Commitment means seeking people and ideas that foster your goal.
The prize of commitment is not the podium, but the step by step process of getting there. The journey of commitment and its value comes from reshaping yourself into something closer to your potential.
You think Mike fits the bill? Hell yes he does! By the way, Mike has lost 79 pounds since joining our community - less than 4 months ago. Congratulations Mike. Keep setting goals and we'll keep knocking 'em down.

Mike, keep kicking ass. Amazing job, truly inspirational.

Mike, add me to the list of people who are continually motivated by watching you hit the WODs everyday. Seeing the effort you put in makes me push harder too. Keep sweating bud.

And thanks to the Powers for opening up their beach house for us. Very cool gesture.
Will Shannon have a WOD posted on the white board? :)

Mike,
Watching you work has been a real gift over these last few months. Thanks so much for what you've brought to the box.

Thank you everyone, but I have only gotten this far because every one of you guys at our gym helps motivate and inspire me to be better, to do better, to get stronger and faster, to get that one more rep in or go that extra round even when my body is telling to quit, stop or some other four letter word.

Its amazing to see your physical transformation. What's more amazing is see your drive motivate others to better themselves. The real improvement is in your attitude and confidence that not everyone in the gym has been able to see but what your family has. Keep up the good work

Yes Mike! You ROCK :)) You are a true inspiration to so many of us at the gym. Your commitment is taking you to amazing new heights & you should be beyond proud of yourself! That is what CF is about... pushing yourself even when you have no more fight left. It feels amazing to push forward that one more step ;} Congrats & thank you for being an inspiration to all of us!

I was amazed at the weight loss. You know I hear everyday from the people where I work complaining that they need to lose weight. I've talked to them about exercise and diet and vaguely referred to the weight loss I've seen in people at CFSS. They continue to complain and come up with reasons like I can't do that or I don't have the time or I got kids or whatever. Congrats to you Mike for not taking the easy way, and for doing what you do. Keep it up.

Truly amazing. Everyone at CFSS inspires me daily, but a special shoutout is well deserved for Mike (and we can't forget about Scott who is a miniature of himself since he first started!!). I love love love it!! Keep up the hard work and you will all conquer the world (after me of course) :).
