CrossFit is so much more than a fitness program. CrossFit is so much more than your Fran time or your xxx pound deadlift, truth be told no one cares that you're "PR'ing" everything. While we are competitive, competition isn't always about beating someone, it can sometimes simply be about bettering yourself. CrossFit is about becoming the best version of you possible. CrossFit is about determination and commitment. CrossFit is about integrity and perseverance. CrossFit builds character. Our culture, our community fosters these attributes in each of us.

AWESOME Blog post!! I could't agree more, CrossFit is all about Self-Improvement. NOT just as an athlete but like the video says "IN LIFE", since joining CROSSFIT SOUTH SHORE I have become stronger, leaner, faster, better conditioned etc...but I have also become more disciplined, more focused, my standards for what I demand from myself have SKYROCKETED, I am a better example for my daughter, my family, my friends and my students. In my circle, I have become the authority of fitness and nutrition and I owe it all to CFSS! CrossFit is a way of life.

This part of that post could not have been written more succinctly and accurately. It perfectly captures what CF is for me...
"CrossFit is about determination and commitment. CrossFit is about integrity and perseverance. CrossFit builds character."
Frankly, I couldn't care less what anyone's ORM deadlift is.
But I am totally enamored by anyone's determination, commitment, and perseverance.
CFSS is packed wall to wall with people of character.

This post is what it's all about. Like Steve said, it doesn't matter what your ORM is- what matters is that it's more than it used to be. For me, Crossfit is about commitment, community, and personal growth. We all come from different walks of life, we start at different levels of fitness, and we have different goals moving forward... but for one hour a day, we all come together and give more than we thought we could. We do this because we want to get better, but we also do this because of the support of everyone else around us. When surrounded by our Crossfit family we pick up the bar sooner, we find the strength for one more rep, we push past what's comfortable, past what we thought we could do, because we know the guy/girl next to us is doing the same thing. At the box we come together to form something that is far greater than the sum of the individual people doing the WOD.
At 34 years of age, I am in the best shape of my life thanks to all of you: my CF family. Thanks to everyone for giving everything you have, and inspiring me to do the same. For me, that's what CF is really all about.

For me CrossFit is about going on vacation with old friends from college and having them not being able to deal with how good you look. Heads were turned and jaws were dropped. Friends were pissed and wives were drooling. For me, that's what CF is really about.
